An MFA-- Luxury!

Do do an MFA or not to do an MFA... I have read lots from both sides of this discussion and yet, I'm drawn by an invisible thread to the admissions and program overview pages of Canadian universities and US colleges that offer such a thing.

I think for me, it might focus my energy, give me post secondary teaching credentials and give me closure on a long-held dream.

What's the worst that can happen?
would go in debt for a degree that does not predict not guarantee employment, never mind an established level of income. That's s bit worrisome if you didn't have another career to fall back on. I do. I still have my progressive career experience in Communications where I've worked from officer to manager to director.

Might it take my time away from things I want to do? I want to work on my fiction writing. Non-issue.

So really it's the money. $15,000/year USD for 2-3 years. Sigh.

Someday.
