3-day mid-novel marathon

Last Labour Day Weekend, I registered and participated in the 3-Day-Novel Writing Contest and wrote 25,000 words. This year I have a tougher challenge: I have to keep writing the same novel only add another 25,000 words.

To register in the authentic 3DN contest, you have start at the very beginning and all your writing must happen over Labour Day Weekend. Since I've already started, I can't officially register.

BUT!

That doesn't mean I won't be participating. I will.

I will be writing alongside all the other budding writers who relish this compact challenge.
I will start at the same time as they do: 12:01am Saturday morning...in about 2 hours!
I will finish at the same time as they do: 11:59pm Monday night...in about 3 days and 2 hours!

From January to July I wrote another 25,000 words as part of the Humber College Creative Writing Program.

Hmmm...3 days, 6 months, 3 days = 1 novel.

I will aim for 25,000 words. Coffee is brewed. Now, I must wait.

  1. Good luck! I didn't register this year either, but I am participating. Only 24 minutes to go! I didn't know what else to do so I googled 3-Day Novel and am just reading people's blogs who have posted on it. (Sorta fun!)

I hope all goes well for you. I'm writing with a group of other writers. None of us are competing, but all are participating.

What genre are you writing in? I've picked sci-fi.
    Best!

  2. Hey, Andrew,
I love how these contest/challenges bring people together!
I'm not sure that my novel fits into a genre other than it's a family drama in WWII Newfoundland.
Good luck to you and your writing friends. Drop in here during the weekend and let me know how you guys and gals are all doing!
    cheers,
